In case you didn’t know, Thailand’s beloved heartthrob Mario Maurer is the voice behind Jon Snow in the Thai-dubbed Game of Thrones.
But the job is no walk in the park for the Thai superstar.
He said dubbing for the hit HBO series is quite a challenge for him because Jon Snow’s voice is deep while his is a little bit high-pitched.
“It’s quite a tough job for me… Every time I go for dubbing, I have to spend about 40 minutes to warm up my voice,” Mario told INQUIRER.net Tuesday in an exclusive interview during the launch of a shampoo product which he endorses alongside K-Pop superstar Sandara Park.
Aside from Game of Thrones, Mario, who earlier this year finished his master’s degree in political communication, is also busy with a drama series that’s set for release in Thailand later this month.
Asked if given a chance to do a movie again in the Philippines, he was quick to answer that he wants to work again with Joross Gamboa and Erich Gonzales. They all worked together in the 2012 Star Cinema movie entitled “Suddenly It’s Magic.”
“[I’d love to work with] my good friend Joross, he’s a very good actor….,” he said. “It’s very nice working with the Filipino team, you know, they’re great and very fun to be around with.”
Mario considers Manila as his second home. He has various endorsements here which allows him to visit the city every once in a while.
