Megastar Sharon Cuneta appealed to the public to stop being malicious whenever she posts about former on-screen partner and ex-boyfriend, action star Robin Padilla.

In a series of three Instagram posts recently, Cuneta detailed why she shares about Padilla. She also clarified why she loves the actor.

Huwag sana masamain at bigyan ng malisya ng ibang tao ang pag-post ko ng photos at mga kuwento namin ni Robin. He happens to be the closest to me among my exes, and truth be told, it took a long time – many years – for us to reach this stage dahil sa hindi masasayang parte ng history namin, kaya mahalaga sa akin ang maalagaan ang friendship namin na ito,” Cuneta opened.

(Please don’t think malicious thoughts whenever I post photos and stories about Robin. He happens to be the closest to me among my exes, and truth be told, it took a long time – many years – for us to reach this stage, because of unhappy parts of our history. That’s why it’s important for me to take care of this friendship.)

She said Padilla is her sole ex-boyfriend who remained friends with her even after their break-up. He was her confidant and her fortress. He was there in her most trying times, most especially, when her mommy Elaine Cuneta died, shared the actress. She also stated that it has never been her intention to rekindle the flame with Padilla.

In her second post, she shared that she knows how much Padilla loves his wife and his family. She also swore that no matter what others may say, she will still continue to share stories about their past to their fans.

In her third post, she reiterated that “wala na po kaming “M” (malisya! Hahaha!) sa isa’t-isa. We just want to make you happy and enjoy working together again.”

(I love Robin but if it so happened that I never had Kiko in my life, I’d only go back to one. It can’t happen too because that person is already married. And sorry but you will never get to know, and you don’t know him. I used to think that an actor would be the love of my life; I have often been torn between him and Robin, in my heart, but this person is the one who always stands out.)

Her post was accompanied by a quote from John Batiste: “You’re never too important to be nice to people.”

Cuneta revealed in her concert last year that they both fell really in love with each other when they were filming “Maging Sino Ka Man”. In fact, she was about to marry Padilla but she learned that someone was pregnant, so she backed out. Years after, the two have remained friends and their fans are eager to see their much-anticipated reunion movie. Clarizel Abanilla/JB
