As well as a tournament recap show “ESL Replay”, Hulu’s four new eSports shows will cover the discipline’s defining moments, the trials of pro-team formation, and a topical news debate.

Entering into a partnership with ESL (formerly known as the Electronic Sports League), online video streaming service Hulu is assembling a slate of four eSports-oriented shows.

“Defining Moments” promises a deep dive into some of eSports’ biggest-impact events, from the development of specific technical skills to the formation of long-lasting rivalries.

“Bootcamp” follows eSports team The Immortals which must recruit and train key players starting mere weeks before a premier competition event, November’s IEM Oakland.

And “Player V. Player” will be a debate show with game-derived elements, featuring eSports commentators and personalities debating news and topical themes.

As for “ESL Recap”, each episode is to air within a week of four of the biggest multi-day eSports tournaments in the world, Hulu said in its announcement, combining analysis and behind-the-scenes footage for “a never-before-seen view.”

ESPN, Turner and Disney are among traditional broadcasters that have begun broadcasting eSports content, while Amazon bought Twitch TV, now a standard in eSports broadcasting, for $970 million in 2014.

Facebook and Twitter have both announced separate deals with ESL in 2017. JB
