Dateless beauties at Star Magic Ball
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and actress Shaina Magdayao walked on the red carpet of the Makati Shangri-la Hotel to attend the recent Star Magic Ball—all by their lonesome.
“There is a reason they call me Miss Universe. I am a woman who can stand on my own,” Pia declared.
Pia said she and boyfriend, racing driver Marlon Stockinger, are still very much together. “He is just busy right now with his racing thing. He has things to do on his own, too,” she explained.
She confirmed that the next Miss Universe pageant, with Rachel Peters as Philippine representative, will be in Las Vegas, Nevada. “It’s the same place where I was crowned, at Planet Hollywood. They’re inviting me to attend, but I really can’t confirm yet. Right now, my priority is finishing my movie. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.”
Pia is working with Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla in a superhero movie that will be shown at the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival in December.

At the end of the night, we always end up looking out for each other, anyway. ”
Shaina and Piolo hogged the headlines last year after the latter uploaded on Instagram a video of them at the ball, engaged in a steamy dance to the tune of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself.”
Asked if she thought Kapamilya talents should be more cautious while partying, Shaina said: “Whatever you see us do at the ball, it’s just us being real. Nothing is planned, just like last year. Things happened because we allowed it to happen. We’re only human. [Despite last year’s incident], I always tell artists attending the ball for the first time to cherish every moment.”—MARINEL CRUZ
