WATCH: In ‘Annihilation’ Natalie Portman searches for lost husband in eco-danger zone
What if there was a part of civilization better left abandoned and uncharted?
An adaptation of the Jeff VanderMeer novel “Annihilation” features Natalie Portman as one in a team of brave explorers who enters Area X.
The site has been cordoned off by the government as it has been deemed an environmental disaster zone.
The teaser suggests that she has encountered a mysterious presence that may be behind the disappearance of her husband, played by Oscar Isaac.
Jennifer Jason Leigh (“Twin Peaks”), Gina Rodriguez (“Jane the Virgin”), Tessa Thompson (“Thor: Ragnarok”) and Swedish actress Tuva Novotny (“Eat Pray Love”) are also part of the dangerous mission.
According to Deadline, the film adaptation is based only on the first book in the “Southern Reach Trilogy.”
The movie is set to hit theaters in February 2018. Niña V. Guno /ra
