The “Fast and Furious” franchise has evolved into one of the biggest and most popular film sagas in the world, and of course it’s not without its fair share of controversy.
Last April, film leads Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson were reportedly not in good terms, while Michelle Rodriguez also threatened to quit the franchise due to the “lack of female representation.”
Another high-profile feud between co-stars might be brewing, as Tyrese Gibson recently called out “The Rock” on social media.
Johnson was rumored to have agreed on a spinoff based on his character “Luke Hobbs”—which may delay filming of “Fast 9,” scheduled for release on April 19, 2019.
“If you move forward with that #Hobbs Movie you will have purposely ignored the heart to heart moment we had in my sprinter,” Gibson wrote in a now deleted Instagram post, which was captured by @theshaderoom.
“I don’t wanna hear from you until you remember what we talked about. I’m on your timeline cause you’re not responding to my text messages – #FastFamily is just that a family…….. We don’t fly solo.”

Although his tone may suggest otherwise, Gibson—who plays the smooth-talking Roman Pearce in the films—clarified that he does not want to stir up a fight with Johnson.
“I have never and will never have a problem with this major movie star he’s my brother,” wrote Gibson, but admitted he didn’t like “Baywatch.”
“I’m simply trying to reach him cause he won’t call me back about this solo #HobbsMovie I want you to shoot it just not right now cause the #Fast9 release date has already been announced and we can’t let our loyal fans #FastFamily or our loyal fast and furious FANS down on any level from pushing the date…….. Didn’t you see how HUGE #Fast8 was? It’s because we announced and KEPT our release date bro.”

He also promised to delete his posts once Johnson replied to his texts—which meant the former WWE superstar has already reached out to him. /ra
