Controversial singer Jake Zyrus is set to sing live and answer the most pressing fan questions this Wednesday, Sept. 13 on Inquirer ShowbizLive.

For one hour, fans can get more up close and personal with Zyrus. Formerly known as the international singing sensation Charice Pempengco, the 25-year old trans man officially changed his name last June. In past interviews, he explained that the name change stands for him letting go of his former self, to make way for his real identity.

Zyrus, in an effort to embrace his real identity, has undergone procedures to alter his physicality. He has gotten his breasts removed and have taken testosterone shots to further enhance his masculinity. His gradual transition from man to woman also toned down his once high-belting voice.

Now, he reintroduces himself and his new music to the world. Despite criticisms, Zyrus still receives widespread support from his loyal fans. JB

Inquirer ShowbizLive airs every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on Inquirer.net Facebook, YouTube and Periscope. It is also broadcast live on Inquirer Bandera Facebook, RadyoInquirer 990AM and Channel 16 or 18 via TV Plus.

The show is hosted by Inquirer Bandera’s entertainment editor Ervin Santiago and Inquirer.net’s entertainment correspondent Izel Abanilla.
