After a grand and romantic Paris wedding, Dr. Vicki Belo and husband Hayden Kho are on their honeymoon with daughter Scarlet in Italy.
The couple has been sharing favorite moments on Instagram, which include the newlywed’s video of a villa in Capri.
The renowned cosmetic surgeon narrated, “You know what I love doing when I’m here? I love to pretend that I’m rich.”
It’s so much fun to pretend . Maybe someday it will come true . God willing !!!
A post shared by Vicki Belo, M.D. (@victoria_belo) on
She panned to a garden, a blue sky, and a pool area to show her dream location.
“So I have these helpers who are uniformed, I’m staying in my garden villa, surrounded by these beautiful majestic trees and clear, clear sunny skies,” she shared.
Giving a glimpse of some deck chairs, she said, “Of course I have to have a huge swimming pool. Sarap ng buhay ‘no (It’s the good life, isn’t it)?”
“I mean you can pretend for two days and you don’t have to spend for the upkeep,” she quipped about the family’s vacation on the Italian island.
Some found her “dream” to be humbling, considering that she runs one of the most successful cosmetic clinic chains in the country which serves numerous celebrity clients.
An Instagram user said that it shows how she “aims high”:
Another user who claims to have worked with Belo explained that the doctor worked hard for her wealth, and defined “being rich” as “having so much money while laying in bed and traveling the world without thinking of responsibilities.”
Others called Belo “humble” even with a “super grand” wedding:
But as expected, some expressed their opposing views. One netizen said it was “plain and clear greed”:
Another pointed out that she had “2 yayas (nannies)” touring with them:
A user said the intention behind the post might have been good, but “it doesn’t come across as humility at all”:
Another netizen pointed out that the doctor was already rich, and compared her with other people who had less in life:
Arguments ensued, with Belo’s supposed former employee coming to her defense to say that the doctor was “generous” and that she gave away her money to charities, as well as to her staff.
It was argued that being rich in Europe was still different from being rich in the Philippines:
Still, some believed that the post was “insensitive” considering that “they have much already and she wants more”:
“Ang mayaman ba hindi na pwedeng mangarap?” a user shot back.
Opinions aside, with the view of the sea and the company of loved ones, what more could one ask for? JB
