Cine Europa screens ‘Jules and Jim’, ‘Babette’s Feast’, ‘Run Lola Run’ for 20th year

Cine Europa fever is back as the famed festival officially opens in Manila starting September 16, running until the 26th, at the Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City.

Now in its 20th year, Cine Europa is bound to offer a perfect fusion of the best of classical and contemporary films from the European Union.

The film festival this year brings to the Philippines 24 cinematic works, spanning the genres of drama, thriller and comedy from 16 E.U. countries, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Sweden and United Kingdom.

After its kick off in Manila, the festival is set to travel for four months to eight other cities and municipalities, still showcasing its European lineup while adding equally outstanding films from the Philippines.

*”20 Sigarette” (20 Cigarettes) from Italy

*”Veiviseren” (Pathfinder) from Norway

*”Bolgen” (The Wave) from Norway

*”Deine Schönheit ist nichts wert” (Your Beauty is Worth Nothing) from Austria

*”Jules et Jim” (Jules and Jim) from France

*”Monkey” from Bulgaria

*”Truman” from Spain

*”A Moving Image” from the United Kingdom

*”Wilsonov” from Germany

*”Utóélet” (Afterlife) from Hungary

*”Aniversarea” (The Anniversary) from Romania

*”Doua lozuri” (The Lottery Tickets)  from Romania

*”Les Barons” (The Barons) from Belgium

*”I Soliti Ignoti” (Big Deal in Madonna Street)

*”Anděl Páně 2″ (An Angel of the Lord) from the Czech Republic

*”Perinbaba” (The Feather Fairy) From Slovakia

*”De Ha van ’63” (The Hell of ’63) from the Netherlands

On September 16, Cine Europa will open with the French film “Souvenir”. JB
