Andi Eigenmann is certainly one proud daughter.

Talent is unquestionably running through her veins, being the daughter of two of the most brilliant actors in Philippine showbiz, Jaclyn Jose and the late Mark Gil. Given Eigenmann’s stellar roots, she just could not help but be proud of the body of work her parents have done.

In a recent Instagram post, the actress uploaded a still photo from one of the scenes of the now digitally-restored version of the critically-acclaimed movie, “Batch 81”, where Gil starred.

Her post said this is the second time that a Mark Gil movie has been digitally-restored, and she’s all the more proud that the restoration will be seen by an international audience:

“First, Itanong Mo Sa Buwan. Now, another one of my all- time favorite films has finally been restored! And they are bringing it to Venice! I am thrilled, and really hoping to be able to share this Mike De Leon creation to the kids of my generation as well. I am also so proud to say that it is led by none other than this beautiful man above.”

Eigenmann said she felt sad that today’s generation is not able to witness Gil’s tremendous talent. She however hopes that restorations of such masterpieces would inspire actors who want to be just like her father.

“I always get sentimental when it comes to film. Specially those that have touched my heart. After all, this is what Im made of. This is the very art form that gave and continues to give me LIFE,” she wrote.

Her mother, Jaclyn Jose, recently made the country proud for being the first Filipino to win the prestigious Best Actress award at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.

Eigenmann’s parents, back in their younger years, starred in some movie projects together. Among those were “Itanong Mo Sa Buwan” in 1988, “Cedie” in 1996 and “Donsol” in 2006 among others.

Gil died on September 1, 2014 of liver cancer. Before his death, he was still able to perform on the hit 2014 Kapamilya teleserye “The Legal Wife”.

While being a notable young actress herself, Eigenmann has been the subject of controversies concerning her love life. Her pregnancy involved a paternity issue with actor Albie Casiño and Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada’s son Jake Ejercito. It was later revealed that Ejercito is the biological father of her daughter Ellie. JB
