Evangeline Lilly is in superhero form for the “Ant-Man” sequel, “Ant-Man and the Wasp.”
I am honoured to be on set today playing #TheWasp on what would be Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday.

Based on the photo, the Wasp’s movie costume veers away from the classic black and yellow in the comics.
The costume belongs to her mother Janet, portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer, who is supposedly trapped in the Quantum Realm.
The sleek costume is an updated version of the 2015 costume seen in the “Ant-Man” credits.
Sleeves have been added and it has a silver instead of a gold accent. The core area still makes reference to a wasp’s exoskeleton.
Her flying ability is up in the air with no wings visible from the first look.
However, if this teaser from the D-23 expo is to go by, the Wasp’s wings haven’t been clipped:

Lilly plays Hope Van Dyne, an executive of her father’s company Pym Technologies.
In Marvel comic books, the Wasp can shrink, fly with insect-like wings, and shoot electric blasts. She is also a founding member of the Avengers.
The “Lost” star has confirmed that she will be joining the fight in “The Avengers 4.”
“Ant-Man and the Wasp” will bring back Paul Rudd as Ant-Man and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Hope’s father. It is expected to hit theaters in July 2018. /ra
