US model Chrissy Teigen admits crying after feeling insecure about her body
Model and host Chrissy Teigen opened up about her physical insecurities at a beauty festival.
At the Beautycon Festival in Los Angeles, Teigen, who is of Norwegian and Thai descent, gave an honestly painful speech about how skewed beauty is with technology.
“My old ass will go on social media, and I will look at the Photoshopping, Facetuning, and the apps—and everything that goes into creating what is now a hit Instagram photo—and I feel insanely inadequate,” said the 31-year-old American, who is also popular for her funny and fearless personal tweets.
Photoshop and Facetune are photo-editing apps widely used by the media and celebrities themselves.
While she has appeared on magazine covers, she shared that she wasn’t exempt from feeling insecure, and has vented to her husband about it: “There have been times I’ve cried to John [Legend], where I felt like I would never have ‘that’ body.”
“Everyone has a butt now and curves and a little waist and that’s not me…I’m jealous of those bodies and I want that, but I also feel like I really want to be cool with my body because of people like you guys,” she said.

At the convention, she mentioned that Victoria’s Secret models also have stretch marks and scars, and she wishes that there were more openness on body positivity.
The model is also a food lover, with her second cookbook in the works.
Still, she keeps her figure by having everything in moderation. “Listen, I love drinking. I love eating bad. But I think there’s a fine balance with everything.” Niña V. Guno /ra
