Heart Evangelista-Escudero is celebrating a successful showbiz journey, and thanks her fans for their support, as well as GMA Network for handling her career well.
In her recent entries on her Instagram Stories, people joined the actress in celebrating “19 years in showbiz.”
In another entry, she commended herself for “19 years of hardwork baby!” She then expressed deep gratitude to the network and to her fans who loved her throughout the years by saying, “I wouldn’t be where I am today kung wala kayo (if not for you).”
Love Marie Ongpauco in real life, Evangelista captured the public’s eye when she joined the Kapamilya Saturday teen-oriented show “G-mik” in the late 1990s, which ran until the early 2000s.
Her fresh face was her ticket to the hearts of Filipino fans. She was once the most celebrated star of her former home network ABS-CBN. After the conclusion of “G-mik”, she was cast in its successor show “Berks” and was a mainstay in the long-running Sunday noontime variety show, “A.S.A.P.” It was also in her heydays in the network that she was blessed with her own primetime drama series “Hiram” in 2004 and “Ang Panday” in 2005.
She was known then for her team-up with on-screen partner and ex-boyfriend John Prats.
Evangelista was also among the reasons for the high ratings of then newly-founded local music channel Myx. She was among the most popular video jocks of the channel. Besides being a sensational teen actress, she was idolized by many for being a fashionista.
It was in 2008 that she decided to transfer to rival network GMA. She did a good number of drama series such as “Codename: Asero” in 2008, “Luna Mystika” in 2008, “Sine Novela Presents: Ngayon at Kailanman” in 2009, “Fullhouse” in 2009, “Langit sa Piling Mo” in 2010, “Dwarfina” in 2011 and “Luna Blanca” in 2012, among others.
Recently, she did “Mulawin vs. Ravena”, and now she’s about to star in the Kapuso primetime romantic-comedy series “My Korean Jagiya”.
Besides her successful career, her colorful love life has also kept Evangelista at the headlines. Before her marriage to Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, she had been linked to some of the most dashing male celebrities. Her most controversial relationship was with Kapamilya actor Jericho Rosales whom (in previous interviews) she once considered as her “one true love.” She had also been in a relationship with Brazilian model Daniel Matsunaga.
Evangelista is also an artist, and has garnered quite a following for her hand-painted luxury bags. JB
