A myriad of heartwarming tributes to the late Linkin Park rocker Chester Bennington continues to flood social media.
The 41-year-old music icon was laid to rest over the weekend, but fans continue to mourn and pay homage to the late singer in many ways.
Perhaps the most vivid tribute came from American artist Jonas Never, who painted a mural of Bennington in front of Rock and Pies Pizza Co. in Sherman Oaks, California, USA.
The stunning image, which continues to mesmerize bystanders and passersby, captures Bennington in all smiles.
“When I heard Chester died, I immediately thought of that wall because I knew some of the band members lived in the Valley,” he described the mural to Variety, which took two days to complete.
Never added that he happened to stumble upon a rare photo of the rock legend “smiling, very recognizable, with all his tattoos visible,” and decided to use it as inspiration.
“I thought it would be better than having him up there screaming,” he said, adding that passing drivers were “beeping and cheering” when he was painting it.
Aside from the mural, a portrait of Bennington was posted on the Warner Bros. records building in Burbank, California, USA, where grieving fans continue to lay flowers and other mementos of the late artist. /ra
