Judy Ann Santos oversees interment of Alfie Lorenzo

Actress Judy Ann Santos will be overseeing the interment details of talent manager and entertainment columnist Alfie Lorenzo who passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning. He was 78.

Santos — whose showbiz career Lorenzo had managed for over a decade — will be coordinating with the veteran talent manager’s family, added Noel Ferrer, Lorenzo’s colleague.

“Juday (Santos’ nickname) said Tito Alfie had always wanted to be cremated and buried immediately. He never attended wakes, even of his friends. But those close to him want to honor his life,” Ferrer explained. “They are finalizing the details, while at the same time conferring to the wishes of his immediate family.”

Santos had also posted a similar message on her Instagram account Tuesday morning.

Lorenzo’s remains will be brought to the Arlington Memorial Chapels in Araneta Avenue, Quezon City at 8 p.m. Tuesday. “He will remain there for two days and then will be transferred to his home in Pampanga,” said Santos’ assistant Tippy Fernandez.

“Everything is still being discussed and schedules will likely change in the coming days. Things happened so suddenly,” said Fernandez, adding that Santos could not be interviewed at press time because she is resting after being woken from sleep early this morning.

From Solaire Hotel and Casino in Parañaque City, where Lorenzo lost consciousness, he was taken to the nearby San Juan de Dios Educational Foundation Inc. (SJDEFI) Hospital in Pasay City. He died at 2:12 a.m.
