Aljur Abrenica has finally confirmed his transfer to ABS-CBN.

In a series of recent Instagram posts, the actor shared that he is “speechless and honored… For the opportunity and warm welcome” given to him by his new home.

Abrenica particularly thanked the network’s chief operating officer Cory Vidanes, talent manager Deo Enrinal and film and television director Laurenti “Lauren” Dyogi.

He also got a warm welcome from ABS-CBN’s television production unit, Dreamscape.

He then just got “literally #starstruck” over one of the network’s most bankable comedians, Vice Ganda.

Prior to this announcement, Abrenica notably posted a photo of his feet “moving forward.”

Even then, his followers already had a hint that the post might mean big news, hence, people congratulated him and sent him their well wishes.

It can be remembered that the actor had a dispute with his former home network, GMA 7, that eventually led to a court battle. In 2014, he filed for the nullification of his contract with the network due to its alleged mishandling of his career.

However, both parties were able to somehow fix the rift, paving the way for Abrenica’s subsequent new projects with the network. He was able to make his comeback on the now-defunct weekly noontime variety show “Sunday All Stars” and did television projects such as “The Half Sisters”, “Dangwa” and “Once Again”.

However, his contract with the network ended in March this year. Apparently, the Kapuso network no longer renewed the contract and finally let the actor go. Co-incidentally, the non-renewal came not long after the news of his fiancee Kylie Padilla’s pregnancy broke out, causing the actress’ sudden departure from her own show “Encantadia”.

Aljur Abrenica was once among GMA 7’s sought-after leading men. He first shot to fame in 2007 when he won as one of the “ultimate survivors” of the network’s signature talent search, “Starstruck”, in its fourth season. He continued on to star in top-rating shows like “Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?” in 2009, “The Last Prince” in 2010, “Machete” and “Amaya” in 2011, to name a few.

His team-up with former on-screen partner Kapuso actress Kris Bernal was among the network’s most successful love teams. JB
