HBO’s recent online leak includes ‘Game of Thrones’ content—report
It’s been a busy summer for HBO, as original shows like “Game of Thrones,” “Ballers” and “Room 104” returned to television on its latest seasons.
However, network officials are in no celebratory mood, as HBO confirmed a major cyberattack on its media library, which resulted in hackers obtaining 1.5 terabytes of data from the company.
“HBO recently experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the compromise of proprietary information,” the studio confirmed to Entertainment Weekly.
“We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with law enforcement and outside cybersecurity firms. Data protection is a top priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data we hold.
HBO remained mum about which information was stolen, but the anonymous hackers reportedly bragged about collecting several content of the critically acclaimed series “Game of Thrones.”
