Its been a year since the anime adaptation of Hiro Mashima’s hit manga “Fairy Tail” last aired new episodes.
Much to the delight of fans all over the world, the 40-year-old Japanese manga artist recently confirmed on Twitter that the final season of the magic-laden series will premiere sometime in 2018.
The news comes after the show’s recent manga wind-down, with Mashima admitting that he had already completed the manga’s final chapter.
The serialized digital copies, expected to be released in late July or early August, will feature a 48-page, double-issue special titled “Irreplaceable Friends.”

Meanwhile, “Fairy Tail” debuted in 2006, which follows the adventures of a guild of young and powerful wizards on a quest to save a fictional Earth from multiple adversaries.
During its 10-year airing, the series amassed a total of 275 anime episodes and nine original video animations. /ra
