Paulo Avelino ‘no-show’ at son Aki’s birthday party

Paulo Avelino was apparently missing in action during the 7th birthday celebration of Aki, his son with ex-girlfriend LJ Reyes.

According to Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Reyes held a Batman-themed bash for Aki in Quezon City on Sunday. In place of Avelino, Reyes’ current beau, Paolo Contis, stood by Aki’s side throughout the party.

When asked about Avelino’s absence, Reyes said: “Lahat ng malapit sa puso ni Aki, nandito. I think napaparamdam ko naman sa kanya ang love ng isang magulang. ‘Yung love na kailangan niya, yun (Everyone who is close to Aki’s heart is here. I think, I am able to let Aki feel the love of a parent, the love he needs).”

Moreover, Reyes made it clear that she was not expecting anything from Avelino. “Sa totoo lang, in a general sense, wala naman talaga akong ine-expect from him (To be frank, in a general sense, I don’t expect anything from him),” she said.

While Reyes is a single mom to Aki, Contis shares two daughters with estranged wife, former “EB Babes” dancer Lian Paz.

Avelino, on the other hand, is rumored to be dating Filipino-Australian model Jodie Elizabeth Tarasek.  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
