The creator of the animated “Castlevania” series which will be starting on Netflix on July 7 has announced another animated project based on a game franchise.

Adi Shanker posted on his Facebook account that he will be making an animated show based on the “Assassin’s Creed” game franchise.

Shanker wrote: “I played the first edition of Assassin’s Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream. At that moment I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin’s Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series.”

He has not mentioned if the adaptation will be a series or a feature film, but at least it’s confirmed that he’ll be making something from the “Assassin’s Creed” universe. All that’s left to do is wait for more details to be announced.

So far, the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise has one movie adaptation under its belt, which was not well-received by most critics and fans. An animated adaptation by Shanker may be the second chance that the franchise needs to move its extensive lore beyond the games and into another medium of storytelling.

“Assassin’s Creed” is a game franchise created by Ubisoft. It tells the tale of a brotherhood of assassins that combat the evil Knights Templar and their plans to rule the world. JB
