Rihanna calls on world leaders Trudeau, Macron to back education
Besides belting iconic pop hits, Rihanna knows how to make her voice heard on the world stage.
With the G20 summit set to be held this July 2017 in Hamburg, she has been rallying world leaders to provide education funding to developing countries.
On Twitter, she asked for the support of Argentinian President Mauricio Macri, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Germany’s federal government spokesperson Steffen Seibert.

She was lauded for her efforts, and one of her supporters was Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard:

Her call-out proved to be effective, as the politicians pledged their commitment. President Macri said “Only education can change the world”:

Rihanna champions the international initiative Global Partnership for Education, which needs $2 billion annually to support its projects. Its efforts aim to reach over 260 million children in over 80 countries.
