Fans of “The Conjuring” movie franchise are in for a treat. Word has it that “The Conjuring 3” is currently in the works and writer David Leslie Johnson has been tapped to pen this new sequel.
Writer-producer-director James Wan, who directed the first “Conjuring” and co-wrote and produced the second movie, is also expected to be on board the project, but in a different capacity, reports Deadline.
For “The Conjuring 3”, Wan is expected to produce the movie through his company Atomic Monster. Peter Safran is also expected to return as a producer.
As a screenwriter, Johnson is known to horror fans for his work on films like “Orphan” and the 2010 reboot of “A Nightmare on Elm Street”.
He also worked with Wan and Safran to rewrite the superhero film “Aquaman” being made by Warner Bros.
“The Conjuring 3” will be the seventh movie in the “Conjuring” franchise which includes the first two movies and four spin-offs, the report said. Alfred Bayle/JB
