Here are five action-packed movies heading to theaters from June to August.

Baby Driver
Known for comedy parodies “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz,” Edgar Wright returns to directing with this movie, which screened back in March at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. The film tells the story of Baby, a young getaway driver who wants to get back on the straight and narrow after meeting the girl of his dreams.
Directed by Edgar Wright
Starring Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx
Release date: June 28 in the United States

War for the Planet of the Apes
After being rebooted at the start of the decade, the saga based on the Pierre Boulle book gets a new installment this summer, which sees Cesar and his apes embroiled in a war against humans.
Directed by Matt Reeves
Starring Woody Harrelson, Andy Serkis, Judy Greer
Release date: July 14 in the U.S.

Atomic Blonde
Charlize Theron takes the lead role in this thriller, playing a British MI6 spy sent to Berlin in the 1980s, shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall, to take down a ruthless espionage ring that has just killed an undercover agent for reasons unknown.
Directed by David Leitch
Starring Charlize Theron, John Goodman, James McAvoy, Sofia Boutella
Release date: July 28 in the U.S.

The only female Oscar-winning director looks back at the Detroit riots in the summer of 1967. At the end of July that year, the Michigan city was the scene of violent protests following a police raid of an unlicensed, after-hours bar, which enflamed racial tensions, particularly between police and the African-American community. More than 40 people were killed and 500 were injured in the space of four days.
Directed by Kathryn Bigelow
Starring John Boyega, John Krasinski, Anthony Mackie, Jack Reynor
Release date: August 4 in the U.S.

Logan Lucky
Four years after “Side Effects”, Steven Soderbergh returns to the big screen with a heist comedy thriller based on two brothers who plan an elaborate robbery during the legendary Coca-Cola 600 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina.
Directed by Steven Soderbergh
Starring Daniel Craig, Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Katie Holmes
Release date: August 18
