Five action movies blasting onto the big screen soon
Here are five action-packed movies heading to theaters from June to August.
Baby Driver
Known for comedy parodies “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz,” Edgar Wright returns to directing with this movie, which screened back in March at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. The film tells the story of Baby, a young getaway driver who wants to get back on the straight and narrow after meeting the girl of his dreams.

War for the Planet of the Apes

Atomic Blonde
Charlize Theron takes the lead role in this thriller, playing a British MI6 spy sent to Berlin in the 1980s, shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall, to take down a ruthless espionage ring that has just killed an undercover agent for reasons unknown.

Detroit
The only female Oscar-winning director looks back at the Detroit riots in the summer of 1967. At the end of July that year, the Michigan city was the scene of violent protests following a police raid of an unlicensed, after-hours bar, which enflamed racial tensions, particularly between police and the African-American community. More than 40 people were killed and 500 were injured in the space of four days.
