Actress Sarah Lahbati is surely one lucky lady for being with one of the most adored men in local showbiz, now Kapamilya actor Richard Gutierrez.
Since the arrival of their son Zion, they have been a picture of a happy family and a loving couple. But even after Zion’s birth, the two have remained sweet to each other. Proof of Gutierrez’s continued devotion to Lahbati was his gesture of surprise at her movie premiere.
At the special screening last night of “Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz”, top-billed by Lahbati and fellow Viva Artists Agency talent Shy Carlos, a dashing Gutierrez in a slick suit, holding a bouquet of pink flowers, all of a sudden showed up to congratulate his lady love for a job well done.

All the while, Lahbati thought Gutierrez was at the house, preparing his stuff for his “La Luna Sangre” taping.
“Kala niya nag-aayos ako ng gamit sa bahay, bihira ko kasi siya ma-surprise kasi magaling ‘to, eh. ‘Pag may surprise ako, alam na niya,” said Gutierrez.
(She thought I was fixing my things at home. It’s very seldom that I get to surprise her because she’s very sharp. If I have a surprise planned for her, she catches it.)
Minutes before Gutierrez’ arrival, Lahbati was repeatedly being asked by the entertainment press if he would be able to join the screening, to which she repeatedly answered that he was busy with his errands at home.
Gutierrez further added, “Hindi ko maisip kung bakit niya naisip kung bakit hindi ako pupunta dito eh. Sabe ko sa kanya, ‘La Luna Sangre’ kasi tonight, pero nasa isip ko talaga i-su-surprise ko talaga siya.”
(I don’t know why she actually thought I wasn’t going. [But then] I told her, [I am taping for] “La Luna Sangre” tonight, although I was really already thinking of surprising her.)
In her Instagram, Lahbati soon after posted a photo of herself while Gutierrez was coming near with the flowers, captioning it with “You got me this time.”
Being a seasoned actor as well, Gutierrez shared how proud he is of Lahbati: “I’m very proud of her, I know how passionate she is and I know how hard she worked for this film and it’s a title film that an actor would really be proud of and Sarah’s very proud of this movie. I’m excited for this.”
Vacations on hold
Scanning their Instagram profiles, the two are undeniably not only about “couple goals” but are ardent pursuers of “travel goals” as well. Gutierrez and Lahbati are among showbiz’s power couple who jet-set all around the world. However, with the onset of Gutierrez’ Kapamilya primetime fantaserye “La Luna Sangre” and Lahbati’s movie and other projects, vacations are, for the mean time, put on hold.
“May mga planned travels na kami, tatlong destinations na ‘yun na na-put on hold muna ngayon. Concentrate muna kami sa mga blessings na dumarating. ‘Yung vacation naman is always gonna be there. Focus muna sa work,” Gutierrez said.
(We already have planned travels. [We are going to] three destinations, but we have to put on hold traveling for a while. We want to concentrate with the blessings that are coming. Vacation is always going to be there. We focus on work first.)
