Aiko Melendez’s eye injured while taping ‘Wildflower’ scene

Aiko Melendez got injured while taping a confrontation scene for the ABS-CBN series “Wildflower.”

In several Instagram posts on Thursday, it was revealed that co-star Maja Salvador accidentally poked Melendez’s right eye in an episode, which was aired on Wednesday.

“All for the love of our craft to give our viewers what they deserve, sadly I got into a minor accident which caused me pain in my right eye,” Melendez explained, noting that the injury led to a blood clot.

Despite this, Melendez never resented Salvador for the accident. She thanked her and other co-stars for rushing her to the hospital and sending her comforting messages.

She said, “I know it was an accident talaga and ‘di mo sadya (it was unintentional) but I felt the genuine concern and love for me.”

Moreover, Melendez promised fans that there would be more intense scenes coming up in “Wildflower.”
