The late Steve Irwin, also known as the Crocodile Hunter, passed away tragically last September 4, 2006, breaking the hearts of the nature show’s fans.
On what would’ve been the couple’s 25th anniversary, Terri posted a nostalgic photo of the two locked in a kiss, complete with an iguana on top of their heads.
Today would have been our 25th wedding anniversary. I miss you so very much, and I am grateful every day for the time we had together. pic.twitter.com/Ztzoclhvyt

American Terri and Australian Steve’s love was a whirlwind romance born from their love of animals; Terri herself was an animal naturalist before meeting Steve.
In 1991, she witnessed Steve doing a crocodile show and was smitten. “I fell then and there, love at first sight, not a problem. I said to my friend, ‘I got to meet this guy’,” she said to ABC News.
A year later, they were married. Their honeymoon was spent catching and relocating crocodiles, and the footage turned into the first episode of “The Crocodile Hunter”.
On the show, Steve shot to fame for encountering wildlife creatures, from wrestling crocodiles to catching meters-long snakes. But in a tragic accident, a stingray fatally pierced his chest while he was filming a documentary.
Terri now owns Australia Zoo in Queensland, which was founded in 1970 by Steve’s parents. Steve and Terri’s children—Bindi, 18, and Robert, 13—have been active in the media, campaigning for wildlife and environmental conservation.

They remain a close-knit family, and Terri hasn’t dated anyone since Steve’s passing. “I feel a connection still with Steve,” said Terri in an Access Hollywood interview this year. “I’ve got beautiful kids and a lot of wonderful conservation work, so, I’m lonely for Steve but I’m not a lonely person.” Niña V.
