Any fan can agree that Coldplay concerts are extremely emotionally-ridden, what with the group’s sentimental lyrics and inspiring rock instrumentals.

But a concert in Munich upped the notch when the band’s lead singer Chris Martin allowed a fan onstage to play one of their most moving hits, “Everglow”.

The fan holding a poster that read, “Can I play ‘Everglow’ with you?” caught Martin’s attention.

He told the teen to come onstage, saying, “I think it’s important for Britain and Germany to work together.” This come after strains in relations between Great Britain and European countries since Brexit, when British citizens voted to leave the European Union.

Martin identified the young man as Ferdinand, and asked him multiple times if he was sure about what he was doing. After he played a few notes, Martin was stunned. “Oh sh*t, I may as well go home.”

After telling Ferdinand to slow down the pace, Martin began to sing, and what was captured on video was a magical version of the song:

According to his social media profile, Ferdinand Schwartz is a 19-year-old musician who enjoys doing piano covers. He called playing for Coldplay “one of the most beautiful moments of my life.”

Chris Martin, thank you so much for your trusting me and bringing me up on stage to play Everglow with you tonight, one of the most beautiful Moments of my life! You really didn’t have to do this but you did, thanks for this Adventure of a Lifetime! Much love 🙏🏼❤️💛💚💙💜 #coldplaymunich #everglow #piano #thankyou @coldplay (the video is on yt and Coldplay’s facebook if you wanna check it out)

Munich is the first stop in Coldplay’s Europe tour. Prior to this, they played at the “One Love Manchester” benefit concert for victims of the recent Manchester bombing. Before Europe, the group toured Asia, making a stop in the Philippines last April 4.

Based on online comments, fans are already practicing song covers for the next stops. You just never know when you can play in the concert of your dreams. JB
