Money drives wedge between popular star and kin

/ 12:03 AM June 07, 2017

You know what they say about money being the root of all evil …

Turns out the real reason behind the ongoing war between Popular Star and Dependable Kin is moolah.

PS entrusted DK with certain valuables in the past. When time came to return the stuff, PS noticed that several items had vanished without a trace.

Perhaps DK had to dip into the treasure chest to take care of the clan’s needs? But then again DK should have informed PS about it. As a result, PS felt hurt by the nondisclosure.

FEATURED STORIES

After all, DK wasn’t the first or last relative and friend to betray PS over financial matters.

Tough luck
When the going gets tough, the tough abandon colleagues to survive. That seems to be the golden rule in Show Town.

At the start, Powerful Personalities took up the cudgels for Embattled Cohorts. But then again, PPs and ECs had the upper hand that time.

When the tides turned, true colors emerged. PPs immediately turned their backs on ECs.

PPs were reluctant to rock the boat and offend far more influential (and vindictive) tyrants.

Limbo rocks
Whatever happened to the supposedly Promising Project of Cantankerous Hottie?

Well, PP is languishing in limbo as of now. Perhaps PP’s backers are fully aware that it was a losing proposition from the get-go?

It doesn’t help that CH’s last venture bombed miserably. Karma Martin keeps knocking on CH’s door these days.

Is it because of CH’s disgraceful attitude? CH is a certified jerk, that’s why.

Karmic chameleon
Speaking of just deserts.
Push comes to shove, High-flying Insider will not think twice about sacrificing loyal buddies at the altar of ambition.
To put it bluntly, HI shunned Longtime Pal in order to remain in the good graces of Crafty Veteran.
LP was crestfallen, but swiftly recovered, especially since HI’s duplicity had yielded an unintentional blessing. LP was spared from a monumental debacle because HI and CV’s undertaking had gone belly up.
For good measure, HI has been enduring a streak of bad luck of late.

Posthaste
From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:
Can you blame Scandalous Celebrity for wanting the world to know about a budding romance? After all, SC had to endure a messy separation from Controversial Partner.
Alas, well-meaning friends advised SC to refrain from blabbing about New Love in social media. Such candor could adversely affect a contentious case, they explained.
Spooked SC complied with dispatch. NL, however, didn’t get a copy of the memo and had been posting away online.

Top of show biz news
For those who missed last weekend’s show biz news on TV. (And why we are moved, if we are moved.)

Gabby Concepcion on taking care of his looks: “Kailangan every day, mag-moisturize and hydrate.” (The secet of Dorian Gray.)

Liza Soberano on playing Darna: “I’m happy and really honored to embody what Darna represents … I’ll give more than 100 percent.” (Go gurl!)

Lea Salonga on being a mentor in “The Voice Teens:” “You don’t have be too hard or too soft [on the kids]—just right!” (Yes, ma’am!)

Annabelle Rama on her son Richard Gutierrez being a Kapamilya: “My dream came true! Teary eyed ako sa tuwa!” (Teary-eyed din mga Kapuso?)

Yassi Pressman on being Coco Martin’s “favorite” leading lady: “ [Maasikaso] lang talaga siya sa lahat.” (Ho-hum.)

Dennis Trillo on what makes a man guwapo: “’Yung mga tao na hindi iniisip na guwapo sila.” (Ahem … )
