Heads up, everyone – ‘Goblin’ has arrived on VIU!

It was few days ago when we informed you that one of 2016’s best Korean dramas is on its way to Philippine shores, right? Now, we’re happy to announce that Goblin is finally here!

The South Korean fantasy-drama “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” or popularly known as “Goblin” is now available for binge-watching on Viu (you can do it this weekend!). The video-on-demand app is a service in the Philippines that offers fast, legal and free streaming and downloading of Korean variety shows, dramas and music programs with English subtitles.

Just in case you’re wondering what is the drama all about and why almost everyone is going crazy about it (Good example? Kuya Kim Atienza and Anne Curtis!), here’s a quick summary:

Kim Shin played by Gong Yoo is an immortal goblin and a protector of souls who needs to find his bride to help him return to ashes. The goblin met the Grim Reaper played by Lee Dong-wook whose task is to take the souls of dead people. One day, the two met Ji Eun-tak played by Kim Go-eun who is known to many as the Goblin’s bride. She has the ability to see ghosts, and all her life, she was made to believe that she is destined to meet the goblin.

The drama was written by Kim Eun-sook, who also wrote the popular series “Descendants of the Sun” (2016), “Secret Garden” (2010) and “The Heirs” (2013). Eun-sook won the Grand Prize in the 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards for it while Gong Yoo won as the Best Actor for his role as Kim Shin/Goblin.

Now, as Viu reaches 3 million users in the country, it’s not yet done giving K-fans some surprises. It’s opening another door leading to more offerings for its subscribers as it introduces its much-awaited premium service.
