Remember former child star BJ “Tolits” Forbes?
After being a finalist in the noontime show Eat Bulaga’s “That’s My Boy” segment in 2003, Forbes co-hosted “Eat Bulaga” for three years. He landed acting gigs in the GMA 7 series “Etheria,” “Fantastikids” and “Ful Haus.”
Forbes was also the young schoolboy who starred in a popular commercial for a detergent brand in 2008. His famous dialogue, “Ako, ako, puro na lang ako (Me, me, it’s always me)” ripened into a pop culture tidbit at the time.
Today, 19-year-old Forbes is taking up Computer Science at STI, according to a Philippine Daily Inquirer report last year. Despite concentrating on his studies, Forbes plucked small acting stints throughout his adolescent years.
He appeared in the remake of ABS-CBN’s “Pangako sa ‘Yo” in 2015, which was then top-billed by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Just recently, Forbes starred in the stage play “Ibong Adarna” and in the indie films “Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir” and “Tandem.” Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
