Aside from his trademark bending free-kicks on the football field, David Beckham is perhaps best known as one charming man.

But contrary to his devilish good looks, the 41-year-old English athlete was seen with a scarred faced and a broken-nose for his cameo appearance on the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures’ “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword”.

Although he has made television appearances before, Beckham acknowledged that his venture to acting won’t be an easy feat.

“I am very aware that many sportsmen and other celebrities have turned their hand to acting and failed,” Beckham said. “I know that it is a tough profession, where you need a huge amount of skill and discipline, and I wouldn’t want to push myself forward too soon, without learning more about it, and doing a lot more practice.”

Prior to landing a role in the upcoming fantasy film, Beckham also briefly appeared in the 2015 flick “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”, which was also helmed by “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” director and close friend Guy Ritchie. The pair also previously worked together on commercials for H&M and Haig Club whiskey.

Meanwhile, the King Arthur film, based on the famed medieval lore, boasts of a star-studded cast with Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, Jude Law and Eric Bana.

The film opens in Philippine cinemas starting May 17. JB
