Four years since dropping its self-titled album, American rock band Paramore resurges with its newest single, “Hard Times.”
The popular band released the song’s music video shot in an ’80s-themed background illuminated with pastel colors. “Hard Times” will be included in a fresh compilation of songs for the Paramore’s forthcoming album “After Laughter,” due on May 12.
This signals the return of the band’s original drummer, Zac Farro, who quit in 2010 with his brother bassist Josh Farro. Another bassist, Jeremy Davis, left Paramore in December 2015 after a bitter legal feud with lead vocalist Hayley Williams.
“I didn’t even know if we were going to make another record,” Williams told the New York Times. “There was a moment when I didn’t even want it to happen. Then it was like, I want it to happen, but I don’t know how we’re going to do it.”
In a span of more than a decade, Paramore came up with chart-toppers including “Still into You,” “That’s What You Get” and “The Only Exception.” Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
