Star Cinema, the film arm of ABS-CBN, has announced that the reunion movie of former couple Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion will not push through this year due to the latter actor’s “tight schedule and current commitments.”

Concepcion is now appearing in a soap opera on GMA 7, rival network of ABS-CBN.

Star Cinema execs noted that “we will study our option in 2018.”

In the meantime, Cuneta will appear in another movie (with a different costar) in her comeback project with Star Cinema.

She last appeared on the big screen in “Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love” in 2009.

Cuneta said on Facebook: “Thanks for your prayers, and I am sorry it’s not pushing through. But please be happy for me … because I am very happy with the new project [that] Star Cinema is now preparing!”

She told the Inquirer: “The team is now talking about the story.”—BAYANI SAN DIEGO JR.
