“Parang there was something that went out na parang (that was like a) petition for joint custody. And for me, na-alarm ako kasi, parang hello, ano ba iyan? Lumalaki na si Ellie (And for me, I was alarmed, because, hello, what is this? Ellie is growing up).”

Eigenmann then questioned Ejercito’s real intention for filing such cases. She said, “She’s five years old, and before anything else, do you really think that exposing her to this kind of limelight, to this kind of ka-cheapan (cheapness), will be good for her?”

However, she assured that should the move be entirely for the kid’s welfare and is not coming from any selfish motive, she would welcome joint custody.

“Kasi (Because) if this is not for your ego, for your pride or, I don’t know, if this is not for that or out of spite because you just hate me so much, if this is because you really love your daughter and you want what is best for her, I also want that agreement. I also want that joint custody and for him to be part of Ellie’s life,” she said.

One of Ejercito’s arguments against his ex-girlfriend is that Eigenmann affords him very limited time to be with their child. Recently, he fumed that he was not informed of Ellie’s graduation, which incidentally fell on his birthday. Eigenmann quickly denied this.

The actress clarified that she knew about March 27 being Jake’s birthday, and that she texted Jake’s sister, Jerika, to come to the graduation. She also told Jerika to let Jake know that he is “very (sobrang) welcome” to the graduation, and that him coming to the graduation can “be the best birthday gift.”

However, her invite was not good for too many attendees. Eigenmann narrated that Jerika asked if other family members can come too, something which Eigenmann had to turn down because the invite was only intended for Jerika and Jake.

Pinili ko Jake over my mom sa day na ‘to so hindi naman pwedeng 10 tickets sa akin, may iba pang mga pamilya sa graduation (I chose Jake over my mom for the day, so it won’t be fair for me to get 10 tickets. There are other families attending the graduation),” she explained.
