After nearly getting the boot months ago, a Filipina-American contestant made it to the final round of the Korean talent show “K-pop Star 6: The Last Chance.”
Seventeen-year-old Kriesha Tiu, also known by her alias Chrisha Choo, made it to the show’s top four together with Korean duo Boyfriend, British-Korean singer Shannon and girl group Min A Lee. She performed Park Jin-young’s “Swing Baby” with contestants Kim Sohee and Kim Hye-rim—as the girl group KWINs.
The trio managed to outshine the fans’ “apple of the eye,” Shannon, after judges Park Jin-young, Yang Hyun-suk and Yoo Hee-yeol gave them the highest score, Koreaboo mentioned.
Early in January, Tiu was eliminated from the show due to a lyrics mishap with her partner Lee Soo-min. However, she was able to regain her momentum when the judges picked her, using their “wild card” later in the show.

Tiu was born in Cebu and migrated with her family to Los Angeles, California, where she was scouted by Urban Works Entertainment. She learned the Korean language and culture in preparation for her colossal stint on the show.
Unlike the previous seasons, K-pop Star 6 obliged talents signed under other talent agencies to compete on the show. Whoever wins K-pop Star 6, the series’ final season, will be promoted and signed on by South Korea’s premier talent companies: Yang’s YG Entertainment, You’s Antenna Music, and Park’s JYP Entertainment.
