Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez, now 50, does not look her age at all. The supermodel swears by the rejuvenating effects of Organique Acai Berry, the “wonder drink” she’s currently endorsing—and it shows.

Here’s my chat with Tweetie:

What’s your fondest “Okay Ka, Fairy Ko” memory? Six years in the show filled my “memory bank” with unforgettable moments. It was always joke time on the set. We’d be giggling privately because of the jokes we cracked before we taped scenes.

FEATURED STORIES

Why didn’t you join Bb. Pilipinas when you were at the peak of your modeling career? It never really occurred to me to do so. The body type for beauty pageant candidates and models are not the same. Models must be lean, while beauty queens are usually voluptuous and curvy.

What do you think of reality shows for models like “America’s Next Top Model?” I was also a product of a modeling competition. Things just got tougher and more complicated these days with the onset of social media and the popularity of reality shows. You can’t seem to keep your privacy any longer. I can’t imagine it being easy for the contestants.

What are three pieces of clothing you can’t live without? A white top, a black shift (dress) and a jacket or sweater, because I’m always cold no matter where I am.

Tell us about your jewelry shop. It’s called TdLG, located at the Garden Wing of Alabang Town Center. It’s my little pride and joy, where I showcase my creative ideas, fashion style and taste. If you drop by, you’ll get a glimpse of who I truly am.

What makes your marriage work? Mon and I see each other as equals. We have tremendous respect for each other. In our 22 years of marriage, we have remained kind to each other and mindful of the other’s feelings, time, wants and needs. We’re pretty affectionate which, I believe, adds to our emotional connection with each other.

What are you most proud of? My kids and my marriage.

What’s the naughtiest thing you’ve done? I’ve always been mischievous—maybe a little less now, because it embarrasses my teenage kids.

If you could turn back time, what would you have done differently? I probably would have taken fine arts in college.

At 50, what are the possibilities that still excite you when you get up in the morning? New hobbies, designing and creating, seeing friends, and hanging out with my family excite me.
