Since their trending duet on ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show “ASAP,” there has been a strong clamor from fans that Sarah Geronimo and Daniel Padilla be paired together.
In Thursday’s press conference on his latest movie, “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” which he topbills with on-screen partner and rumored girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo, Padilla talked about the issue linking her to the pop princess.
“Nandiyan si Mateo nahiya tuloy ako (Mateo is here, I feel awkward to answer),” he said pointing to Geronimo’s boyfriend, Mateo Guidicelli, who is also included in the film.
He clarified that there was nothing to it and that he and Geronimo just did a production number together, which the fans enjoyed.
“Pinag-kanta lang naman kami wala naman malisya sa ganun (We just sang together and there’s nothing malicious about that),” he said.
He then said he was open to the possibility of working with the premier performer.
“Depende ho yan sa ano [management], ako, kahit sino ang sa tingin nila ay tama (It depends on the management’s decision. I can pair with whoever they see is fit for me),” he said. /ra
