Former sexy star Katrina Paula admits drug use in the past

Former sexy actress Katrina Paula admitted she once used drugs.
“Kasi bago pa ‘ko mag-artista, nagawa ko na yun. Hindi ko naman ipinagkakait na naggaling ako sa club. Nagtrabaho ako sa club, kailangan kong mag-show kaya titira muna ‘ko ng pinagbabawal na gamot,” she said in an exclusive interview yesterday (March 28) with Inquirer.net and Inquirer Bandera.
(I was into it before I entered showbiz as an actress. I do not deny that I used to work in a club, I needed to perform in live shows, so I took drugs before performing those shows.)
Fortunately, she soon realized she has to quit her drug use and was able to save herself.
“Pero after nun, ayoko, hindi kasi maganda sa ‘kin yung tama nung mga gan’on. Isipin mo napakaliit ng utak ko, ‘pag tumira pako di wala na, ano pa mangyari sa ‘kin,” she answered with a joke.
(After that, I did not like it anymore. I did not like how the drugs took effect on me. Just imagine, I already got such a little brain; if I continued taking drugs, what else would be left of it, and what more would happen to me?)
Nonetheless, the mom of four assured that drugs, to her, is already history.
“Kahit anong sunod nila sa ‘kin di nila ko makikitang umiiskor, eh,” she said.
(No matter how people spy on me, they won’t see me sniff illegal drugs.)
It is no secret that Paula is a close friend of fellow ex-sexy star Sabrina M. (Karen Pallasigue in real life), who was recently caught by the police in a buy-bust operation due to illegal drug possession and alleged involvement in illegal drug trade.
She said she warned Sabrina that drugs will not bring any good in her life. In the end, Paula knows she still owes so much from Sabrina M. and is willing to guide her despite everything.
“Willing ako sa kanya siya kasi sobrang friend ko siya eh, hindi naman ako magiging Katrina Paula kung di dahil kay Sabrina M. eh. Dinala ako ng pangalan niya dahil naging magkaibigan kami. Dahil nga mas matanda siya sakin, ang hirap niya pagsabihan dahil ate siya,” Paula said in closing.
(I’m willing [to help her] because she’s my friend. I would not be Katrina Paula if not for Sabrina M. Her name carried me because we became friends. But since she’s older than me, like an older sister, it’s hard to make her listen.)
Paula starred in sexy films in the 1990s. She was cast in movies such as “Venus, Diosa ng Kagandahan” in 2001 and “Love and Desire” in 1998. She is now inactive in showbiz and manages her family’s businesses. JB
