HEARD: Shawn Mendes’ ‘cheeky’ encounter with Katy Perry

At the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards, pop singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes was in the middle of a red carpet interview when he felt someone “touching” his butt.

The event’s two female hosts told Shawn that it was Katy Perry. And before long, fans on the internet were in a heated debate whether or not Katy was, indeed, being cheeky.

Asked by the Inquirer at a recent press conference in Manila about the butt-grabbing incident, Shawn, who performed at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last Saturday, said: “I’m not sure if that’s true, actually. But that’s what I was told when I was there. So, it possibly isn’t true…” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
