Jake Cuenca shares with the Inquirer his experience working with Kiana Valenciano for the music video of the latter’s pop/R&B single, “Circles,” which was directed by Emmy-winning producer Michael Carandang.
“I was impressed with how the video was made. It tackles domestic violence. Kiana told me that the director has already won an Emmy,” Jake said. “I agreed [to do it], because I wanted to work with a person who has that kind of credibility. Not a lot of people would accept that kind of role, but I don’t mind looking bad. The lesson there? Never hurt a woman. That’s unacceptable. It’s best to just walk away if you think you can’t control yourself. Kiana’s voice is amazing! I can see why this project is close to her heart. She cowrote it with her dad (Gary V).”—MARINEL R. CRUZ
