Meghan Trainor reclaims her pop throne with a single celebrating girl power.
On Friday, the “All about that Bass” hitmaker released a music video for her newest single, “I’m A Lady,” for the upcoming film “Smurfs: The Lost Village.” The song was penned by Trainor herself and produced by Martin Rene.
Throughout the clip, Trainor models several glitzy outfits, sings with a microphone made of black gems, and grooves with her backup singers. Clearly, men are omitted in the video.
Trainor, 23, who will voice the character SmurfMelody, will join an all-star voice cast with Julia Roberts as SmurfWillow, Rainn Wilson as Gargamel, Joe Manganiello as Hefty Smurf, Jack McBrayer as Clumsy Smurf, Danny Pudi as Brainy Smurf, Michelle Rodriguez as SmurfStorm, Ellie Kemper as SmurfBlossom, Ariel Winter as SmurfLily, and Mandy Patinkin as Papa Smurf.
Pop icon Demi Lovato will lend her vocals for the Smurfette, the sequel’s courageous protagonist. Living up the thrilling girl power motif, females acted as the film’s brain and ribcage, with Kelly Asbury as director and Stacey Harman and Pamela Ribon as scriptwriters.
Upon clinching the recording gig for the newest “Smurfs” franchise, Trainor blasted the news by posing with two Smurfs mascots and sharing it on Instagram last year.

Trainor continues to project her music with female empowerment and body acceptance themes. Vivid epitomes of these themes were fixated in the songs “All about that Bass,” “Lips Are Movin,'” and “No Good for You,” all existent in her first album “Title.” In addition, she dropped her second album “Thank You” in 2016.
