Neil Fingleton, the seven-footer British actor who played Mag the Mighty in HBO series “Game of Thrones,” has passed away at 36 years old.

Fingleton, who was hailed as the tallest man in the UK at 7 feet and 7 inches, died due to heart failure, The Guardian reported.

Fingleton was a former basketball player in the early 2000s and represented teams in the US, Spain and Greece. He retired in 2007 due to an injury, and soon after made his way into Hollywood stardom.

He starred as a giant in several action films including “X-Men: First Class,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Jupiter Ascending” and “Doctor Who.”

“I have never been self-conscious about my height,” he told the Guinness World Records in 2007. “I am more conscious of going bald so that should tell you. I never let my height play a negative part in my life.”

Fingleton was never shy of his height and even used it as an advantage to stimulate his career opportunities. “I always do what I want, some tall people may be restricted as they are constantly stared at or people ask the same questions over and over. This is the only bad thing about being tall–the stupid remarks and questions. Other than that, being tall is great,” he said.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
