Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War” won’t hit cinemas until next year, but the studio behind it is already teasing us with its epic roster of superhero cast.
As seen in a three-and-a-half minute teaser uploaded by Marvel Entertainment, Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man) and Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spiderman), along with “Guardians of the Galaxy”’s Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star Lord) briefly discussed the much-awaited movie, which began filming last month.
Downey, who starred in three standalone Iron Man films, two Avenger sequels, and even played a significant role in the recent “Captain America: Civil War” movie, expressed his delight to take part in “a year of fun-filled lensing.”
The newcomer Holland, meanwhile, says being part of the cast is “mind-blowing” and makes him feel like he’s “on top of the world.”
“I remember actually going to see the first Avengers with one of my mates from home,” the promising young actor revealed. “I’ve never dreamed I’d be in one of these movies, let alone [play] Spiderman.”
After teasing fans with clips of the chaos-inducing “Infinity stones” which would play a crucial part in the two-part film, producer Kevin Feige explained the magnitude of bringing all the past Marvel movies together, which would be the grand culmination of 10 years worth of superhero flicks.
“’Avengers: Infinity War’ is the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe as started in May 2008 with the release of Iron Man 1,” Marvel president Kevin Feige said. “It really is an unprecedented culmination of a series of films linked together, which at the time has never been done before. For us, the important thing is making it all come together.“
Meanwhile, directors Anthony and Joe Russo divulged small pieces of the film’s overall plot, which takes place during the aftermath of the events of “Captain America: Civil War”.
Due to their epic squabble, Tony and Steve reportedly refuse to speak to one another leaving the Earth in a most vulnerable state.
“Tony senses this greater threat approaching, so he’s doing everything in his power to keep Earth safe,” Joe disclosed.
Furthermore, Feige also confirmed longtime rumors of a crossover between the Avengers and “Guardians of The Galaxy”—whose sequel is expected to be released on April.
The awesome collaboration was illustrated in a concept art of Rocket Racoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) appearing to be in battle together.
Downey also shared a live video-behind-the-scenes to his millions of Facebook followers.
“Avengers: Infinity War” will make its debut on May 4, 2018, while the untitled follow up will be shown on May 3, 2019. Khristian Ibarrola/JB
