Julia Montes not moving to ‘Encantadia’
That never crossed my mind,” Julia Montes said on Monday in denying the rumor that she plans to transfer to a rival network.
“Yes, there was a time when I considered quitting show business altogether, but I never considered moving to another network,” Julia said at a media gathering for the afternoon drama series, “Doble Kara,” which airs its finale on Feb. 10.
According to an online report, Julia was likely to assume the role of Reyna Amihan in the GMA 7 series, “Encantadia,” replacing Kylie Padilla, who recently confirmed being three months pregnant.
“ABS-CBN has always taken care of my career. I’ve had challenging projects here,” the actress added.
In fact, Julia said she would begin working on another TV series immediately after she was done taping for “Doble Kara.”

“The hardest part is when Kara (the mild-mannered twin) gets angry. I have to make sure her facial expression and body language are different from Sara’s.”
Julia added: “When I wear Sara’s clothes and wig, I automatically become her. As an actress, Sara is my favorite. She has gone through a lot, and her life is more colorful than Kara’s.”
Asked about the real score between her and Coco Martin, she replied: “Nothing has changed.”
The actress was rumored to have dated Coco for over a year, but both Kapamilya artists denied ever being in a relationship.
“We hardly see each other these days because we’re both busy, but our communication lines remain open. We’re OK. We’re still close,” said Julia, refusing to elaborate.
Julia and Coco first worked together in the 2012 series “Walang Hanggan.” This was followed by the film, “A Moment in Time,” and the TV programs, “Ikaw Lamang” and “Wansapanatym: Yamashita’s Treasure.” They will again be seen together in the soon-to-be-released movie, “Padre de Familia.”
Can CocoJul supporters expect to see Julia in “Ang Probinsyano” as guest, especially now that her own soap series is about to end?
The actress said: “I’m not the right person to say that. It depends on our bosses, although I’m open to that possibility. Let’s wait and see.”
