The 2017 TV season is exciting acting buffs because new drama series are fielding an ordinate number of veteran actors and actresses in significant roles. It’s like a festival of “fierce” portrayals by senior stars, who threaten to act circles around their younger and less experienced coplayers.
For instance, Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards’ first teleserye, “Destined to Be Yours,” also topbills Boots Anson-Roa, Lotlot de Leon and Gardo Versoza.
“Wildflower” stars, Maja Salvador and Joseph Marco, are “significantly” joined by Tirso Cruz III and Aiko Melendez, with special participation by Sunshine Cruz and Christian Vasquez.
For their part, Ritz Azul, Paulo Avelino and Ejay Falcon headline “The Promise of Forever,” with Cherry Pie Picache, Amy Austria, Susan Africa and Tonton Gutierrez providing strong senior support.
“Meant to Be” topbills Barbie Forteza and some male starlets, but we’re more pumped up by reports that it also features the Gloria Romero.
The fantaserye, “Mulawin vs Ravena” fields leads like Dennis Trillo and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid—plus Roi Vinzon and Chynna Ortaleza-Cipriano.
“My Dear Heart” is the most “senior-studded” new drama of all, with Coney Reyes, Robert Arevalo, Rio Locsin, Joey Marquez and Eric Quizon pacing its younger players, like Zanjoe Marudo and Bela Padilla.
“Pinulot Ka Lang sa Lupa” stars Julie Anne San Jose and Benjamin Alves, and is proud to feature seasoned veterans like Jean Garcia and Alan Paule.
“Legally Blind,” which topbills Janine Gutierrez, Mikael Daez and Lauren Young, is enhanced by the presence of Marc Abaya and Chanda Romero.
Other senior stars we’d love to see again soonest on the TV screen include Ronaldo Valdez, Tommy Abuel, Leo Rialp, Al Tantay, Ariel Rivera, Bembol Roco, Bodjie Pascua, Dante Rivero, Edu Manzano, Lou Veloso, Niño Muhlach, Pen Medina, Pepito Rodriguez, Romnick Sarmenta and Noel Trinidad.

The winners of Wish 107.5’s second music awards were chosen by Wishers’ online votes
(50 percent) and a panel of judges composed of Mitch Valdes, Noel Cabangon, Gary Valenciano, Alvin de Vera, Francis Reyes, Isah Red and Angelica Ong (50 percent).
