Nusret “Salt Bae” Gökçe, the hot Turkish chef worshiped for his viral salt sprinkling technique in his dishes, found a an impressed fan in an Oscar-winning actor.
In his Nusr-Et restaurant branch in Dubai, Salt Bae posted an Instagram photo on Thursday featuring an amazed Leonardo DiCaprio watching him season his steak with salt. Wearing a beret and with a toothpick in his mouth, DiCaprio was at loss for words with the salting spectacle held before his eyes.
The clash of “both worlds” sparked intrigue and dished meme-worthy captions on social media sites.

Gökçe’s signature act of dredging salt on meat dishes crafted into the internet’s top culinary craving early this year. His pose was warped into a multitude of memes and a symbol for shirt designs. In fact, Hollywood A-Listers such as Rihanna and Ben Affleck were spotted wearing shirts bearing his iconic pose. Host James Corden dedicated a lengthy “The Late Late Show” segment honoring his cooking masterpiece.
