Mic on Kris: I honestly like her
James Yap and Mic Cazzola can’t be any happier. Their bambino Michael James (MJ) is growing cuter by the day, and he makes their bond stronger. The couple celebrates with a cake monthly to mark MJ’s “birthday monthsary.” He is now officially a Christian after his baptism on Jan. 14 at the Santuario de San Antonio.
MJ was born on Aug. 8. August happens to be the eighth month, so that makes a double eight, a number that symbolizes eternity. May baby MJ keep Mic and James together eternally.
Here’s my chat with Mic:
Tell us about MJ’s baptism. We got our closest friends as godparents—the persons we feel can give MJ good guidance and [be a good] example. We chose our house for the reception because we wanted an intimate environment.
In what way will you raise MJ—the Italian way or the Pinoy way? Italian and Filipino ways are very similar. I am a hands-on mom, and I will teach him respect toward others and honesty.

Article continues after this advertisementHow has MJ changed your life? I am no longer self-centered.
How do you balance being a mom and a partner to James? I find time for both. James and I have date nights. We go out for dinner and wine.
What scares and excites you about motherhood? I’m excited to teach him good values. I’m scared to make mistakes. It’s a daily learning
experience.
What’s your fave motherhood moment? When my baby smiles at me.
How many kids do you and James plan to have? Maybe two, but we aren’t thinking of that yet.
Is marriage next on your agenda with James? Not a priority right now.
