Christian Bables now a Regal baby
After his highly lauded role in the internationally acclaimed film “Die Beautiful,” drought days are now over for Christian Bables as he now becomes officially part of the Regal Entertainment family.
Christian was first noticed when he became part of Kiray Celis and Enchong Dee’s 2016 flick “I Love You to Death.” However, it was his role as Barbs in last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival official entry “Die Beautiful” that made him become a household name. It was his portrayal of Barbs that earned him the Best Supporting Actor award at the MMFF.
About five years ago, Christian was struggling to penetrate the show-biz industry. Constantly polishing his talent by undergoing acting workshops, he has finally hit the bull’s-eye and he still can’t believe the good fortune that’s unfolding before him.
“Natutuwa po ako kasi pinagkatiwalaan tayo nina Mother Lily at Miss Roselle,” the actor gushed during his contract-signing with Regal Films on Wednesday.
Now there’s a tug-of-war among networks offering him exclusive contract.

Sinabi ko sa managers ko na bigyan natin sila ng priority kasi sila po ang unang nagtiwala sa akin. No’ng walang gustong magtiwala, itong si Miss Roselle ang nakakita ng kakayahan natin,” he said. (We are still weighing the offers. But for now we have said yes to Mother (Lily Monteverde, matriarch of Regal Entertainment) and Miss Rosselle (Monteverde’s eldest daughter, who now largely manage Regal). I told my managers to give them priority because they were the first to put their trust in me. When nobody believed in my ability, this Miss Roselle believed in me.)

He divulged that his next project will be a drama film.
He is also set to appear on GMA 7’s weekly anthology “Magpakailanman” today, Saturday, wherein he plays for the first time in the episode the lead role.
“Gagampanan ko po ang buhay ni Ramon Burce, isa po akong ulirang anak na nagkasakit ng Tipus (Typhoid). Abangan niyo po kasi kung natatandaan niyo po si Barbs, makakalimutan niyo po siya ngayon kasi lalaki po ako dito, hindi po ako naka-heels dito”, he told Inquirer ShowbizLive. (I will portray the life of Ramon Burce, a model child who got sick of typhoid. Watch it because if you remember Barbs, forget her because here I am a straight guy, I don’t wear high-heeled shoes.)
