Xia Vigor continues to reap admiration from social media users around the world for her performance at ABS-CBN show “Your Face Sounds Familiar” last week, dolled up as Taylor Swift.

However, not everyone seemed to be entertained with the Filipina-British child’s routine of Swift’s “You Belong with Me,” with British TV mogul Piers Morgan topping the list. He expressed his disappointment for her performance by calling it “creepy,” “not cute” and “sexualized” a few days ago.

In response to Morgan’s opinion, Vigor’s mother, Christy, sharply retorted, “I think it’s very judgmental of him to say that,”during an interview with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield for the talk show “This Morning,” according to The Sun.

“For Piers to say something like that, he’s a journalist so he should know his facts first. He doesn’t know the full story, he should get the facts straight.”

Christy also reiterated that it is her primary job as a mother to protect her daughter from performances not suitable for her age. “As a mother, I would never put my daughter in a place where she’d be sexualized,” she elucidated.

She added: “She’s an extremely smart girl, she’s not a normal 7-year-old…she loves to perform.”

In the latter part of the interview, Vigor, 7, described her insanely viral imitation of the “Shake It Off” songstress. “When I’m grown up I really want to be a pop star,” she told the hosts. “I feel I’m just playing, just enjoying it. I’m happy if I’m making people happy.”  Gianna Francesca Catolico
