Xia Vigor’s ‘Taylor Swift’ imitation gets Perez Hilton’s nod
Filipina-British child wonder Xia Vigor appeared on the local TV show “Your Face Sounds Familiar” on Sunday, shaking it off as none other than Taylor Swift and getting the nod of a Hollywood show-biz writer.
Vigor sang Swift’s 2008 chart-topper “You Belong with Me” and spruced up her stage allure with costume changes. Judges Sharon Cuneta, Ogie Alcasid and Gary Valenciano gave thumbs-up for Vigor’s vigorous imitation of the American pop star.
“That was such a great performance. Nasorpresa ako (I was surprised),” Cuneta told Vigor. “I like your energy tonight.”
Her impersonation made international headlines and impressed Swift’s fans and social media users.One of them was Hollywood gossip columnist Perez Hilton, who shared Vigor’s performance on Twitter. “This little girl doing Taylor Swift is everything I needed right now,” he tweeted on Monday. “The ending, though!”
